All the steps below must be submitted BEFORE volunteers begin volunteer activities (including any practices, meetings or games.)
Step 1: Pennsylvania State Clearances
Each volunteer that works with youth participants in Morrisville Little League is required by Pennsylvania Law to complete clearances. Details of each required clearance and how to obtain them are below.
1. Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Cost: Free for Volunteers) (Valid for 5 years)
2. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance (Cost: Free for Volunteers every 57 months)
3. Federal Bureau of Investigations Criminal History Clearance
Please note that the requirements for the FBI Criminal History Clearance depend upon where you lived during the past 10 years. Select the option below that applies to your scenario and complete the required steps:
Scenario 1: If you've lived in Pennsylvania during the last 10 years: Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Affidavit
Scenario 2: If you've lived outside of Pennsylvania at any period during the last 10 years, then you must follow this process:
Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance (Cost: $24.20)
Digital Fingerprinting Service Code: 1KG6ZJ (Pennsylvania DHS Volunteer)
The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History and State Police Criminal History Clearance documents can be done online and results are typically available within 1-2 days. The FBI Criminal History Clearance (Scenario 2) requires you to go to a designated site for fingerprinting. It can take more time depending upon appointment availability and processing times.
Step 2: Little League Volunteer Application
All volunteers are required to complete a Little League Volunteer Application each year. Please follow these steps to complete the application:
Log into your Morrisville Little League Account https://www.gomll.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1246561&isLogin=True
Click “Volunteer” on the left-hand side of the page.
Click “Find Volunteer Roles” on the right-hand side of the page.
Select the volunteer role and complete all questions.
Please attach a copy of your Driver’s License to the form.
Submit your clearance documents obtained from Step 1. Note that the system can only accept one file for clearances, so you will need to combine all clearance documents into one file for submission.
Upload any training certificates (if applicable).
Submit the Volunteer Application
Step 3: Little League International Background Check
Once the volunteer application is complete, Morrisville Little League will process the application. Each volunteer will receive an email to complete a brief form to proceed with the background check. Please complete and submit the form when you receive it.
The screening includes the JDP National Criminal Search, plus Developed names, and collects data from more than 685 million criminal records, sex offender registries in 50 states, OFAC, FBI Terrorist List, Proprietary Offender Data, Department of Public Safety, Administrative Office of the Courts, Department of Corrections, Federal/State/Local wanted fugitive lists, as well as searches of the SafeSport Centralized Disciplinary Database and Little League International Ineligible/Suspended List.
Step 4: Required Training
Starting with the 2025 season, all volunteers are required to complete the Abuse Awareness Training course. This course is required by Little League International to volunteer in Little League Programs and must be completed by all volunteers each league year (after October 1st).
The training is available through the Little League Training Portal. You can sign up for a Little League Training account and complete the course at Little League Training.
Once complete, the League Safety Officer will be notified of completion.
For questions or more information, please refer to the Little League Abuse Awareness FAQs.
Once all four steps are completed, Morrisville Little League will review all volunteer applications, background checks, and clearances to ensure volunteers meet the standards and policies set forth by Little League International. Little League International, through District Administrators and the League's Board of Directors, may deny individuals the privilege of volunteering for reasons, past or present, that may be detrimental to the positive development of young people, other volunteers, and/or Little League International.
